		Half Shell (HS) • For mild to severe hearing loss • Fills a portion of the bowl of the ear • Visible in the ear
		In-the-Ear (ITE) • Larger one-piece hearing instrument • Suited for mild to severe hearing loss • Fills the entire bowl of the ear • Easy to operate • Visible in the ear
		Behind-the-Ear (BTE) • Two-piece hearing instrument (rests behind the ear and connects to a custom ear piece) • Suited for mild to profound hearing loss • Easy to operate • May be barely visible depending on size, case color, and earmold color
		Open-Fit Behind-the-Ear (BTE-open fit) • Small, two-piece hearing instrument • Suited for high-frequency hearing loss • Utilizes a non-custom and non-occluding “slim tube” • Barely visible or not visible at all
